At birth the baby appears to be a normal chinchilla and may continue to look normal up to 2-3 weeks old. The color begins to fade into a brownish/sable color. (The picture above is a junior with terrible coat, but you can clearly see the faded difference in the babies head.) This is currently not an accepted color by ARBA and cannot be shown.
